From time to time I’m asked about Leicester City statistics through Twitter and reply in kind, but I thought this might be a good feature for the blog so here goes.
After recording this weekend’s podcast I was asked the following question by Tom Foyster.
“When was the last time Leicetser City scored penalties in successive home games?”
It turns out that its been over eight years since this happened, during City’s last successful promotion to the top flight. Paul Dickov scored both of the spot kicks against Bradford (4-0, 17/09/02) and Wolves (1-0, 28/09/02), the former being part of one of Leicester’s biggest wins of the decade (City beat six sides by that score, and Cheltenham twice).
So there you have it. I’m dreading how deep I’ll need to delve into Of Fossils & Foxes if City score another penalty at home to Forest…
